8 year old Shraddha Somanath (Grade 3) becomes the First student of Greenwood High to get the World Chess Federation (FIDE) Title. She got the Online Title of AFM (ARENA FIDE MASTER) published by World Chess Federation. She completed all the requirements and got the Title.
Shraddha Somanath also becomes the Youngest Greenwood High student to get the International FIDE Rating of the World Chess Federation. Shraddha got a International Rating of 1004 in the June FIDE Rating list published by World Chess Federation(FIDE) on 1st June 2016.
Aman Deepak Thadani (Grade 6) got a FIDE Rating of 1124 .
Vishesh Agarwal (Grade 8 IGCSE) also got a FIDE Rating of 1124.
Anya Syed Seth (Grade 5) who already got Rapid FIDE Rating got the Regular FIDE Rating of 1059.
Shraddha Somanath won First place in the Under-8 Girls Category at the Chi.Sou Meenatai Shirgaokar Memorial Open International FIDE Rating Chess Tournament held at Sangli, (Maharashtra) from May 1 to 5. Shraddha scored 5 points from 9 rounds and won the U-8 Category Cash prize.
Pragy Narayan (Grade 3) has got the following prizes during Summer Vacation
1. 4th Place in U-08 in FIDE rated tournament at Sivakasi, Tamilnadu.
2. 1st Place in U-08 in ICA April-2016 monthly chess tournament in Bangalore
3. 2ndPlace in U-15 in ICA May-2016 monthly chess tournament in Bangalore
