The first batch of International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme students from Greenwood High graduated in a solemn and impressive ceremony with the theme Per Aspera Ad Astra—through difficulties to the stars. The chief guest for the evening was Dr. Prafulla Agnihotri, Director of the Indian Institute of Management, Tiruchirapalli.
The event was also attended by the chief guest’s wife; the Chairman of the Greenwood High Trust, Mr. Bijay Agarwal; Members of the Board of Trustees and the Principal, Mr. Aloysius D’mello.
In his inspiring message to the graduating class of 2013, Dr. Agnihotri advised them to hold their own views and not to get bogged down with failure, while the Chairman, Mr. Bijay Agarwal pointed their attention to the fact that they should have courage, choose the path of goodness and work for the benefit of humanity. The Principal, Mr. Aloysius D’Mello praised them for meeting every challenge headlong and accomplishing every task enthusiastically.
The evening saw enthralling performances by the school choir as well as by the graduating batch, before the batch received their certificates and took a pledge where they committed themselves to the motto Mens Sibi Conscia Recti¬¬—a mind conscious of moral uprightness. The highlight of the evening was the symbolic tassel ceremony which saw the batch move from graduands to graduates.
